The Empire of Ilrodus
The ancient elven empire of Ilrodus once stretched into Sumir and up to Wasil and over to Delmar. After centuries of ruling these foreign lands containing lesser races, the elves simply returned to their secluded forest home. The territories in Sumir were found abandoned and in ruins 300 years later when Laras was reuniting the nation. The territories in the North and East formed their own nations and never wondered why their conquerors were gone. In truth the elves had suffered the end of a line of emperors who had ruled their nation since its birth. Without their guidance the great elven houses argued amongst each other as to who would rule next. Civil war erupted as elves slew each other over family loyalty and turned the great wood of Frith into a bloodstained guerilla warfare zone. After three centuries of fighting a peace was reached and the Empire was broken into smaller kingdoms. The peace was short lived however, as their once conquered territories began to invade the divided states. After two centuries of being raided and attacked by other races one young elf by the name of Lais rose up and began gathering a great army. He conquered all of the separate elven nations and drove out the invaders, successfully reuniting the elven kingdoms. He then set about rebuilding their once mighty empire by retaking lost lands in the north. However while on campaign there, only a quarter of a century later, he was killed in battle. The high elven families feared more infighting, so they set about establishing a high council granting each family some control over the government. The Councils first move was to move the Capital from Pandrodor to Harnar since Harnar was the economic capital of their nation.
Pedrokhan: Although currently possessed by the elves this great port city was once part of the Kingdom of Nyroc. Nyroc was far to cold for the elves to settle, however their major port city of Pedrokahn had a warm ocean breeze blowing in and keeping the region much warmer (thought still reasonably cold in the winter) making it habitable for the elves. Since the elves took the city the people of Nyroc have wanted to get it back, however they suffered their own problems.
